Homecoming king and queen crowned at Louisiana Veterans Home

BOSSIER CITY, La. ( KTAL/KMSS ) – A special homecoming honoring seniors happened on Friday afternoon.

Huntington High School varsity cheerleading squad started the pep rally with a performance at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans. The senior living center hosted a homecoming party to celebrate its residents, who were dressed in their finest outfits.

This year’s theme is “A Trip Down Memory Lane.”

A king and queen were also announced. Tony Neal, longtime photographer for KTAL/KMSS, asked the couple about their new royal status.

“Sid you think y’all were going to be the king and the queen?” “Oh heaven’s no I thought she was going to be queen, replied the crowned queen. “Yes I did,” replied the king.

“It’s the memories that we share on homecomings when you go to your high-schools. To your old colleges. You share memories and talk about the old times. That’s what we like to do is take a trip down memory lane. That’s what bridges our residents and our staff,” said Wesley Pepitone, administrator.
