Shreveport man arrested for hate crime, other charges after fight at Monroe store

MONROE, La. ( KTVE/KARD ) — On January 5, 2025, officers of the Monroe Police Department were dispatched to the parking lot of Shoe Show on Louisville Avenue due to a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers were told that the suspect, 51-year-old Clint M. Ferguson of Shreveport, La., allegedly drove his vehicle next to a Black individual’s vehicle, exited his vehicle, and shouted “I hate n*****s.”

According to the affidavit, the victim then exited their vehicle as Ferguson allegedly continued to shout racial slurs. Once the victim called the police, Ferguson returned to his vehicle and the victim stood in front of Ferguson’s vehicle. Ferguson then reportedly drove around the victim and ran over the victim’s foot.

The victim then allegedly punched Ferguson through the open driver’ window as Ferguson fled the scene. Once Ferguson returned to the scene, officers attempted to apprehend him and he refused to give a statement to authorities. Ferguson was pulled out of the vehicle and arrested.
