SHREVEPORT, La. – It was cloudy and cool, but still decent parade weather as the Krewe of Sobek rolled Saturday afternoon ahead of the big winter blast expected next week. The krewe’s parade made its way through the city’s Queensborough neighborhood with temperatures in the mid 50s. The theme for 2025 was Sobek In Candy Land.
It was indeed a perfect day for a Mardi Gras parade and Carnival season is just getting started in the ArkLaTex. Folks came from near and far for the festivities.
This year’s parade grand marshal was Jeter Jones. He is the king of the Trailride Blues. The Mansfield, Louisiana native is the CEO and owner of independent record label-Jones Boys Entertainment Worldwide.
Captain Rosalind Howard and Co-Captain Eric Monroe served along with Chris Hayes and Von Jennings who are this year’s king and queen.

ABOUT THE PARADE
The parade started at Fair Grounds Field. The floats rolled onto Greenwood Road headed west, then made a right turn and headed north on Mertis Avenue. They then turned right onto Lakeshore Drive and then headed south on Missouri Avenue back to Fair Grounds Field…
