Shreveport is About to Dodge Another Winter Storm

This year has started with some serious winter storms putting pressure on southern states. Two of those winter storms put the Shreveport and Bossier City area on high alert.

The first was Winter Storm Cora, which pushed across the US between January 8th and January 11th, 2025. It looked like the storm was going to dump a “wintery mix” of rain, freezing rain, and snow on the Shreveport and Bossier City region. In the day’s leading up to the storm’s arrival, the line of freezing temperatures was fluctuating to the north and south. If the line was over North Louisiana, Shreveport was going to get covered in the freezing mix, south of the area and it meant snow for Shreveport. But what ended up happening was the freezing line ended up in Arkansas, and that meant Shreveport and Bossier just saw rain, and didn’t have to worry about the freeze.

Now we’re watching Winter Storm Enzo move into Texas and Louisiana. Where parts of the United States that rarely sees winter weather getting ready to be blanketed with snow.
