Shreveport fire caused by gas leak under bridge ‘could have been catastrophic,’ official says

Crews from the Shreveport Fire Department responded to a fire under a bridge in the 100 block of North Market Street on Wednesday and discovered an active gas leak at the location.

What was thought to be a grass fire was revealed not only as a leak but a downed power line. Firefighters remained on the scene for three hours, until the area was safe.
