Caddo Sheriff Hosting Drug Take Back Event for Safe Disposal

This Friday, April 18, America will celebrate National Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet Day, and if you intend to participate, the Caddo Sheriff’s Office wants to give you a safe alternative for that drug disposal.

If you’re planning to dispose of those old, out-of-date prescription drugs, please don’t take the easy route and flush them down the toilet. The potential danger they pose to our ecosystem through the septic system is unfathomable.

Instead, the Caddo Sheriff’s Department will again provide a safe alternative to dispose of those unneeded medications with a “Drug Take Back Day.”

Again this year, citizens are encouraged to dispose of unwanted prescription drugs on Saturday, April 26, at Sheriff’s Safety Town. The event is part of the National Drug Take Back Day, hosted twice each year by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The Caddo Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), will be collecting old, unwanted, and expired pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm…
