Severe storms are possible for this weekend!

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Rain and storms are making their return to the ArkLaTex through this weekend, and some of these storms have the potential of becoming severe! For this evening, conditions remain quiet for most of the region, but going towards Saturday morning, we could see a few showers/storms move across our far northwestern zones (mainly McCurtain county). They are expected to remain non-severe, as those areas are not under any severe risks today or tonight.

On Saturday, the severe risk moves farther southeast to include areas north of I-30 under a Marginal and Slight risk of severe weather (Level 1 and 2 out of 5). The higher chance for severe weather lies in the areas farther northwest within the region, and the main threats include damaging winds, large hail, and possible flooding. The storms should move into areas north of I-30 through the morning hours, then retreat by lunchtime before pushing in again by Saturday evening. Our tornado risk is low for Saturday, but not out of the question…
