3 officers go to hospital after possible fentanyl exposure; 4 arrested

GREENWOOD, La. (KSLA) – Three Greenwood Police officers were possibly exposed to fentanyl during a traffic stop, falling ill a short time after.

On April 20, officers with the Greenwood Police Department (GPD) performed a traffic stop on a car that had no license plate displayed. During the stop, two of the car’s occupants, Jackson Strickland and Bobby Wayne Davis, were found to have outstanding warrants for their arrest.

The vehicle’s driver, Eric Mainous, allegedly tried to conceal a baggie of white powder in it. Several baggies and straws with the white and powdery residue on them were recovered along with some fentanyl test strips…
