SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – It’s estimated that more than 70 million people died during World War II. Every year since 1984, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church holds their annual NWLA Holocaust Remembrance Service to honor the those who lost their lives.
Over 250 students participated in the service’s literary and arts project. Micaela Gafford, a student at Caddo Magnet High School, won first place for her essay titled “My Name is Prejudice but You Already Know Who I Am.”
This project allows middle and high school students to learn about the Holocaust and create poems, stories, essays, visual art, or musical compositions…
