Jonesboro-Hodge sprinted and leaped their way to a second place finish in the girls division of the Class A – Region 1 track meet held at the campus of Lakeside High School in Sibley, LA. The Tiger boys came in a respectable 4th place and had several qualify for individual competition at the state meet that will be held at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium on the campus of LSU in Baton Rouge, May 8-10.
Ciara Gray continued her sterling season by being named the Region 1-1A MVP after winning first place in the 100 and 300-meter hurdles and the long jump and triple jump. Adding to her impressive feat is that she set new all time Jackson Parish records by running a 14.40 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles and becoming the first ever female athlete in Jackson Parish history to eclipse the 40 foot barrier in the triple jump with a leap of 40′ 1.25″.
Christian McGuire also grabbed headlines by winning gold medals in the 100 and 400 meter dashes and as a member of the 4×400 meter relay team that was also composed of Ariy’un Bradford, Ka’Darrion Thompson, and Gregory Howard…
