USAA Bank fraud conspiracy case nets Louisiana woman long prison sentence

A Louisiana woman who federal prosecutors say masterminded a bank fraud conspiracy targeting customers at USAA Federal Savings Bank and other financial institutions has been sentenced to more than 11 years in prison.

Destane Glass, 24, of Shreveport, La., was sentenced to 135 months in prison and ordered to pay almost $540,000 in restitution after pleading guilty in November to conspiracy to commit bank fraud, according to a court filing Monday.

Glass’ sentence was tacked on to a 37-month prison sentence she is currently serving for defrauding the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program , which provided financial assistance to businesses during the pandemic. She also must pay almost $400,000 in restitution in that case…
