Man arrested for allegedly stealing person’s vehicle and selling it to scrap yard

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Alex Russell, 38, was arrested following an investigation that began with the reported theft of a vehicle from the 100 block of East Kings Highway, according to the Shreveport Police Department.

Detectives with SPD’s Property Crimes Unit were notified after Russell allegedly towed a vehicle that did not belong to him to a scrap yard and sold it. Authorities said the business provided documentation confirming that Russell had misrepresented the vehicle as his own during the transaction.
