Plans are in the works to build a new park in Bossier City — a super small greenspace hoped to provide some life and safety to a underutilized plot.
Bossier City is developing its first-ever “pocket park,” a reimagining of the city-owned greenspace on Shed Road and Airline Drive. With the help of a recent grant from the state transportation department, the Bossier City-Parish Metropolitan Planning Commission expects to begin building that park sometime next year.
Pocket parks are generally small, often irregularly shaped urban areas made into publicly-accessible greenspaces designed to serve a nearby community.
