SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Shreveport Fire Department is inviting the public to learn more about the day-to-day life of a firefighter.
To celebrate the start of “Camp I’m Still Me,” a free summer camp for children ages 5-17 who have sustained burn injuries, SFD invites families out for a fun day. The department is inviting the public to tour fire stations, meet firefighters, learn fire safety, and promote Camp I’m Still Me.
According to the press release, campers will participate in various activities such as games, crafts, swimming, and fishing. They will have adult burn survivors as counselors. The camp will offer “emotional healing and the formation of lasting bonds.”…
