91-YEAR-OLD SHREVEPORT WOMAN BEATEN, TIED UP, AND LOCKED IN CLOSET — SUSPECT ARRESTED

SHREVEPORT, La – Shreveport Police have arrested the man accused of a vicious attack on a 91-year-old woman during a violent home invasion.

On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, officers responded to a home in the 2400 block of Somersworth Drive, where they discovered the elderly woman severely beaten, tied up, and locked inside a closet in her own home. She had been left barely clinging to life.

Detectives with the department’s Violent Crimes Unit immediately launched an intensive investigation. After hours of relentless work, investigators identified 24-year-old Kendrell Thomas as the suspect.
