SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – The Overton Brooks Veterans Affairs Medical Center took part in a nationwide “Homeless Outreach Surge” on Wednesday, July 9.
Five teams consisting of VA employees and Shreveport police officers searched different areas of the city for homeless veterans. They then provided services like medical checkups and mental health screenings.
