SHREVEPORT, La. – A joint investigation led by the Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Abatement Team (VCAT) resulted in the arrest of two men and the seizure of multiple firearms and narcotics, authorities said.
The investigation focused on Valentine Carter Jr., 22, who was suspected of firearms trafficking. With assistance from the Shreveport City Marshal’s Office, SPD Warrants Unit, SPD Vice Unit, and the Office of Juvenile Justice, officers located Carter Jr. at a residence in the 9500 block of Short Leaf Drive and obtained a search warrant.
Law enforcement executed the warrant without incident and detained all occupants of the home. During a search of the property, officers recovered:
- Two 7.62x39mm semi-automatic pistols
- One .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol
- One 9mm semi-automatic pistol
- Approximately 1,418 grams of marijuana
- About 50 grams of THC-infused edibles
