Caddo Schools administrators prepare for Queensborough, J.S. Clark schools consolidation

SHREVEPORT, La. — As the new school year approaches, some Caddo Parish students will adjust to a new school building because of consolidation.

And that’s become necessary as the number of students declines along with the population of Caddo Parish. It’s a problem the school district has been dealing with for years.

The latest attempt at being effective and efficient with taxpayer dollars came in April when the Caddo Parish School Board voted to close several schools, including Queensborough Elementary, which will be absorbed by J.S. Clark Elementary.

“Every child will receive the same quality education. The education they were receiving at Queensborough they will receive here as well. We are excited about them coming.
