Shreveport man sentenced to life for the double weapon murder of Jeremy Wyatt

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – After receiving a probation for a previous attempted murder charge, a Shreveport man will still find himself permanently living life behind bars.

Lloyd Tremaine Cooks, 22, was found guilty of second-degree murder for the slaying of 31-year-old Jeremy “Ruru” Wyatt.

On August 11, 2025, a Caddo Parish judge ruled that Cooks must pay for the crime for the rest of his life for the June 2025 murder.
