Geek’d Con is coming back for its 10th year this weekend, and Shreveport-Bossier area residents can expect a celebration of comics, movies, gaming and cosplay.
What is it?
Geek’d Con began in 2015 and has grown into the largest pop culture event in the Ark-La-Tex region, according to a news release, and celebrates all things geek, from comics and movies to gaming and cosplay. This year marks the 10th anniversary, so residents and visitors to Shreveport can expect an even bigger event this year.
When and where?
Geek’d Con X will be at the Shreveport Convention Center, 400 Caddo St., Friday through Monday.
On Saturday , there will also be a cosplay “Nerd Rave” for all ages at the Capri Theater, 620 Milam St., in downtown Shreveport.
The hours will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Who will be there?
There will be multiple celebrities at this year’s convention, including David Howard Thornton, who plays Art the Clown in the Terrifier movies, Mikaela Hoover, who plays Cat Grant in James Gunn’s Superman and will voice Chopper in the new season of One Piece on Netflix, the voice actress for Jessie from Toy Story, Kat Cressida and more.
How much?
Ticket prices start at $20 for a Friday pass and go up to $73.47 for a weekend pass. Tickets for the 10th Anniversary Full Weekend Ultimate Pass are sold out. Tickets for children aged 6 to 10 range from $10 for a one-day pass to $25 for a weekend pass. Children ages 5 and under are free. Purchase tickets online here…
