Mall St. Vincent Turtle Health Concerns in Shreveport

Steven, from Steve’s Snaketuary, has raised serious concerns about the health of the turtles at Mall St. Vincent in Shreveport. He told K945 that for over a year, he has been contacted by concerned employees and citizens about the animals’ condition. Steven claims he has reached out to management in the past, but was consistently given the “run-around,” leading him to believe the situation has been a serious concern for some time.

After seeing the turtles, Steven noted several health issues with them. He pointed out signs of mineral deficiency and white spots, as well as discolored shells, bumps, and even deformities. Concerned that some of the turtles may have serious injuries, Steven said his veterinarian is ready to take the animals in for care.

He also believes the turtles’ enclosure is overcrowded and poses a danger to their health and safety. He wants to help by providing and installing new lights and a proper filtration system.

“I simply want to help out as much as possible,” Steven said, emphasizing his desire to work with the mall. He claims that the new management at Mall St. Vincent is open to a meeting, and he is eager to assist. “I don’t want to bash the mall, especially with new management in place. I just want to help them,” he said…
