Caddo Parish officials are hosting public meetings this week on a controversial plan to build a multimillion-dollar pickleball complex in south Shreveport.
Caddo residents are invited to attend two upcoming informational meetings about a proposal to build a pickleball facility in southeast Shreveport. The meetings are Monday and Tuesday evening, both of which are being proceeded by pickleball demonstrations and youth clinics.
The parish first publicly proposed the pickleball park in June, presenting the plan as way to assure Caddo captures a piece of the fast-growing sporting trend. The idea is to pay for the project with $10 million in revenue bonds, which would be paid back with proceeds from the park, and to have the YMCA manage the site…
