The Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeals has affirmed the second-degree murder conviction and life sentence of Jonathan Jermaine Crenshaw, upholding a jury’s decision that he was a principal in the 2019 shooting death of Derrick Terrell.
The judgment, rendered on Wednesday, rejects Crenshaw’s claim that there was insufficient evidence to prove his involvement, despite his co-defendant, Terrance Felix, Jr., firing the fatal shots.
The case dates back to an August 2019 incident at a Knights Inn Motel on Monkhouse Drive in Shreveport. According to court documents and trial testimony, Terrell arrived at the motel to see Tamala Ware, with whom he was having an affair.
