Work on a new walking trail at South Bossier Park is running a bit behind schedule, but it should be open soon, according to Assistant Parish Engineer Matt Redmon.
The Bossier City-based Synergy Construction started surveying for the trail July 14, according to an announcement from Bossier Parish Public Information Officer Rod White. Parks & Recreation Director Allen Wood said crews have been laying down mulch since Aug. 22 or 25, and work should be wrapped up “within a couple weeks,” Redmon told the Police Jury Wednesday.
South Bossier Park’s practice fields are already used by a litany of local youth sports teams, and the parish government expects the trail will be good for the park’s cross country events, “further enhancing its role as a hub for regional athletic competitions,” as White’s announcement put it…
