SHREVEPORT, La. — The city of Shreveport last year was assessed $1.6 million in penalties and interest by the IRS for failing to file a required Affordable Care Act form in a timely manner, in addition to improperly paying two now-former police department employees.
That’s according to the city’s annual audit released Monday by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office.
