The fate of Percy Davis continues to be on hold.
A doctor has delivered his competency report regarding the Louisiana death row inmate convicted in Caddo Parish for two June 1990 murders, and the district attorney’s office has made a motion opposing his resentencing.
Dr. Matthew Gamble determined that Percy Davis “lacks the capacity to understand the death penalty in this case. Furthermore, it is my opinion to a reasonable degree of medical certainty that Mr. Davis lacks a rational understanding that he is to be executed and of the link between his crime and its punishment.”…
