Shreveport Weather Alert: Severe Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain Expected Saturday Afternoon

Shreveport, LA – The National Weather Service in Shreveport is tracking a developing system that could bring strong to severe thunderstorms across parts of Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

According to the NWS, storms are expected to form by early Saturday afternoon and continue through late evening, fueled by a shift in the upper air pattern and increasing moisture. The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of the Four State Region under a Level 2 (Slight) Risk for severe weather.

Forecasters warn that damaging wind gusts, hail, and a brief tornado or two can’t be ruled out, particularly in areas around Shreveport, Texarkana, and Longview. Rainfall may also help ease dry conditions, but localized flooding is possible where heavier downpours occur…
