Shreveport woman pleads guilty to attempted armed robbery linked to 2024 Benton homicide

A Shreveport woman entered a guilty plea Monday in Bossier Parish District Court to a charge of attempted armed robbery in connection with the 2024 death of a Shreveport man in Benton.

Destiny Landers, now 24, was originally indicted on a murder charge for the death of Wilmer Monette Jr., 76, but entered the altered plea Monday. She will be sentenced Feb. 20, 2026, and faces a minimum of 10 years in prison.
