Residents filed into the Martin Luther King Center to grill Bossier City officials at the town hall event thrown by City Council member Debra Ross Monday night.
This was the second town hall of the year thrown by one of the council’s new members. The first was hosted by Cliff Smith on Aug. 4 and drew a packed house at the Shady Grove Community Center. More than 30 people attended this time around.
While the discussion bounced from question to question, it touched on a lot of common themes. Residents whose questions were voiced largely had gripes with vacant property upkeep, road and sidewalk maintenance, traffic safety and adjudicated property.
Overgrowth
One topic of concern was that trees are overgrown on some adjudicated properties the city maintains. Justin Robinson, the superintendent of the city’s property standards division, said tree cutting on those lots comes with some legal hiccups…
