Shreveport Country Club is under contract to sell to mystery buyer. Here’s what we know.

Shreveport Realtor Gerod Durden said the historic Shreveport Country Club property near Greenwood Road has gone under contract. He encourages people to remember that “under contract” is not the same as “sold.”

The property’s long-vacant main building went up in flames on Saturday, Oct. 4 in a two-alarm fire. Prior to that, it had been for sale for years- most recently for a $4.3 million asking price.

Durden told The Shreveport Bossier City Advocate that his client wants to keep the 218 acres a golf course and club, but with even more amenities. “Maybe a recreational area, a resort-type venture. It will be a definite upgrade but a golf course will be the main idea.” He said there is also talk about adding some upscale residential units.

He confirmed the property went under contract before the fire that destroyed the historic country club building. The current owner is former pastor Denny Duron’s nonprofit Winner’s Circle International…
