Only a couple of weeks ago, Shreveport drivers who routinely use I-49 North to I-20 East were forced to find an alternate route as a construction project on the exit ramp began.

Hopefully those drivers haven’t forgotten the alternate route they chose, as the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has just issued a notice to all motorists that beginning on this coming Monday, October 27, the I-49 northbound off-ramp to I-20 eastbound in Shreveport will again experience nightly closures.
This ramp closure is scheduled to take place from approximately 7:00 pm to 6:00 am each night from Monday, October 27 through through Thursday, October 30, and is necessary to allow the contractor to safely and efficiently perform concrete pavement repairs near this location as part of the ongoing I-20 major rehabilitation project.
This will be a total ramp closure at the specified location each night. All vehicles will need to detour. DOTD does assure that detour signage will be in place directing motorists back to I-20 eastbound.
As with all construction projects of this nature, the work will be performed “Weather Permitting” so any inclement weather could delay, extend or alter in other ways the scheduled work nights/hours…
