Housing Authority of the City of Shreveport breaks ground on new affordable housing unit

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Housing Authority of the City of Shreveport held a groundbreaking ceremony for Fairfield Estates II on Thursday.

The building will add 52 new affordable housing units and replace the dilapidated Wilkinson Terrace.

“We are 20,000 units short of affordable housing in this community,” said CEO Bobby Collins. “So, we’re doing our best every day to try to make a little dent in that. Everybody is trying to develop housing in this community. We’re on board with them because we can’t have too much.”…
