A Shreveport resident, one of Louisiana’s oldest living people, has died.
Elvira Helaire-Davis, a resident of the Martin Luther King Jr. neighborhood who recently reached the age of 110, died Monday, according to her granddaughter. She was recognized as one of the oldest living Louisianans, regularly honored by local and state leaders for her longevity and always-growing family legacy.
“We are heartbroken. It’s going to take some getting used to. Her house don’t feel the same, but we thank all the community, the city, everybody for the love and support.
