Two defendants plead guilty to manslaughter in video-taped 2020 Shreveport shooting

Two men arrested for suspected involvement in a September 2020 homicide at a hotel in the Monkhouse Drive corridor of Shreveport agreed to plea agreements the last week of October.

Contril Snow, now 30, and Waylin Blanks, 52, entered guilty pleas to manslaughter after previously pleading not guilty to second-degree murder. Both were sentenced in the courtroom of Caddo District Judge Chris Victory.

Snow was sentenced to 15 years and Blanks to 12. The case had been set for trial 13 times for Blanks and five for Snow, going back to the first date in August of 2022, before the defendants were separated for prosecution…
