Shreveport proposes 3% pay raises, $8.5M for public safety equipment

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – As 2025 wraps up, the Shreveport city budget for 2026 is underway with potential pay raises and major investments that could benefit city employees, particularly first responders.

Mayor Tom Arceneaux has proposed a strategic plan that could raise city employee pay by 3% and allocate $8.5 million for public safety equipment, following comments received during recent budget meetings.
