BOSSIER CITY, La. — While major retailers dominate Black Friday and Cyber Monday, shoppers across the country turn their attention to local merchants on Small Business Saturday.
The Small Business Saturday initiative, launched by American Express in 2010 and later co-sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration, encourages consumers to support small and locally owned businesses. In Bossier City, dozens of vendors and shoppers gathered in the parking lot of the Pierre Bossier Mall to mark the occasion.
