SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – A proposed 2.8 million square foot data center was denied Wednesday, Dec. 3 by the Shreveport Metropolitan Planning Commission after getting major backlash from the community.
Bohler Engineering, the company behind the data center, could still appeal the decision to the city council though.
Community opposition leads to denial
Earlier this week, people showed up in large numbers to fight against the proposed data center in west Shreveport. After a 4-4 vote of the Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC), the plans were denied.
