On Friday, a jury in Caddo Court found a man guilty of a rape that occurred earlier this year.
Back in January, the victim came to the Shreveport Police Department to report that she was raped by 35 year-old Welton J. Guidry, her intimate partner. After telling officers what happened, she was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
Sex Crimes Detectives with SPD were called to the hospital to interview the victim and learned that Guidry and the victim were at the Royal Inn Motel when Guidry asked the victim to have sex. When the victim declined the offer, Guidry forced himself on her. The victim was able to push Guidry off, but he ultimately pinned her down and committed the assault…
