A dessert shop with a variety of cool options in Bossier City recently opened a Shreveport location too – and it’s worth the visit.
Aloha Bowls and Cream is a cheerful place offering açai bowls, smoothies, sorbet, fruit cups, and handcrafted ice cream. This shop has great customer service, plenty of seating, and a colorful hand-painted Aloha mural that runs the entire length of the room.
You may have heard of açai — becoming popular across the U.S. — and wondered what it is like I did. Açai, which is pronounced ah-sigh-EE, is an antioxidant-rich berry from açaí palm trees in South African rainforests, primarily Brazil.
The most popular way to enjoy it is in an açai bowl – a puree made from açai berries which is like a thick smoothie which you eat with a spoon. It’s dark purple and tastes like a mild mixed berry sorbet…
