SHREVEPORT, La. — Young members of the Krewe of Harambee gathered Sunday afternoon to decorate for their upcoming Mardi Gras parade, using creativity and color to bring this year’s theme to life.
The children spent the afternoon decorating jackets and creating masks with jewels, paint, patches and feathers. The hands-on workshop marked the first time the young krewe members designed their own parade attire.
“The gems are different colors,” said Jaxson Wyite. “They stand for different races and how they should stick together like glue.”…
