BOSSIER CITY, La. — For the second year in a row, fans, friends and family are coming together to honor the life and legacy of a beloved Stonewall musician with a special concert aimed at helping others in the local music community.
The concert, set for Saturday, January 10, remembers Shawn Stroope, an internationally known guitarist who died of cancer in 2024 at the age of 50. Proceeds from the event benefit the Flatwound Initiative, a nonprofit named after Stroope’s favorite type of strings and created to ease the financial burden for local musicians facing serious medical crises.
“Last year, I think I was still processing the loss,” said Stroope’s widow, Sarah Stroope. “This year, as his wife, I want to continue to do what I can to honor his legacy.”
