SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – The Krewe of Harambee is getting ready for its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebrations.
The 26th Annual MLK Day Celebration will be held Monday, Jan. 19 in downtown Shreveport, and will feature a whole day of unity, culture, and community spirit. Events include the Hope and Dreams Scholarship Breakfast, the MLK Day parade, and new this year: the Harambee DreamFest at Caddo Common Park.
This year’s theme is “Harambee Celebrates Black Love in the Caribbean.” It celebrates the strength, joy, and cultural influence of the African diaspora, embracing the krewe’s dedication to uplifting the Shreveport-Bossier community…
