Shreveport and Bossier City hunkered down Saturday as ice pelleted the area on the first day of Winter Storm Fern, a system bringing severe weather weather across a large swath of the U.S. this weekend.
A second round of freezing rain and ice pellets were falling in Shreveport at 5 a.m. Sunday, while Natchitoches saw light snowfall, according to the National Weather Service.
