Shreveport residents managing life without power

SHREVEPORT La. — Finding ways to stay warm in the winter without power is paramount. For a member of the Air Force like Michael Hayes, who is a resident of Alaska and works at Barksdale, he’s a man that wears many hats.

“We’re pretty warm right now, staying warm enough, but I’m out here on charging duty. You know, I’ve got two teenage girls and my wife, so I’m out here, all the devices plugged in because the truck will easily charge it. If gas runs out, I can just go to the gas station, refill it,” Haynes said. “But that’s our one major source of power right now while we wait until power to come back on here.”
