When a New Orleans crime-watch syndicate recently took to social media to celebrate a major bust in the French Quarter, the city of New Orleans saw a group of dedicated National Guardsmen keeping its streets safe. But here in the Shreveport, we saw something and someone, much more familiar.
As it turns out, one of the sharp-eyed Guardsmen pictured in the viral report is none other than our very own Shreveport Police Officer Winston Carter.
Officer Carter is a prime example of what it means to go above and beyond. When he isn’t patrolling the streets of Shreveport, he is serving our state and country as a member of the Louisiana National Guard. Currently, he is deployed to New Orleans to assist with the massive security undertaking that is Mardi Gras season.
