Among the evidence in the second-degree murder trial of two brothers this week in Caddo District Court in Shreveport was surveillance video of them at a Shreve City-area vape store at the same time as the man they were found guilty of killing just two hours later.
Roderick Smith, then 19, and Romarian Smith, 17 at the time, were found guilty Thursday of the June 19, 2023, second-degree murder of Jamani Johnson Jr.
Johnson met the brothers at the vape store and — according to the prosecution’s case — invited them back to smoke marijuana on the balcony outside his mother’s second-floor apartment at The Jolie near Shreve City. He was shot six times in the back during what his mother described as a struggle with the two she identified as the defendants…
