Louisiana man indicted in federal court, accused of threatening Speaker Mike Johnson

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A Shreveport man was indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly making threats to and cyberstalking Speaker of the House Mike Johnson.

The three-count indictment handed down on Tuesday was detailed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Western District of Louisiana, in a news release on Friday, charging Justin Chadwick Butler, 31, of Shreveport.

“Threats against public officials and our Nation’s leaders are threats to our democracy and our American way of life, and we will not tolerate them,” said United States Attorney Zachary Keller. “For those who would use the mask of internet anonymity to threaten others, the message here is clear: our many state and federal law enforcement partners will track you down, and you will face justice.”…
