Charges urged to be upgraded in viral parade harassment case

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — It has been almost two weeks since a video of an elderly woman being verbally harassed at the Krewe of Centaur parade went viral.

Oliver & Watkins Legacy Law Firm held a press conference on February 16, to allow 69-year-old Deborah Church to speak publicly about the altercation that resulted in beer being thrown on her and her four-year-old grandchild.

“She wasn’t ever a lady to leave her home. This was something she wanted to do for her grandchildren. The ten-year-old who actually recorded came from Dallas and had never even experienced a parade before. This was his first time, and he never wants to attend another parade,” said Attorney Jenetrell Oliver.
