Shreveport State of the City report

SHREVEPORT, La. – Public safety improvements and major infrastructure projects were among the key highlights of the Shreveport’s progress in 2025, according to the latest State of the City update from Mayor Tom Arceneaux.

Arceneaux reported that violent crime continued to decline in 2025 compared to previous years. The Shreveport Police Department responded to more than 159,000 calls for service, conducted about 16,000 traffic stops, and made roughly 6,200 arrests. That included 576 arrests for driving while intoxicated. Officers also seized 946 firearms throughout the year.
