The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that the ongoing Jimmie Davis Bridge (LA 511) replacement project over the Red River has reached another milestone with the installation of the first girders on the new structure.
Girders are the primary horizontal, load-bearing members that support the deck and transfer traffic loads to other components of the bridge. Piling installation is also nearing completion.
